Green practices
At Château Gassies
Here you can find out about the little ways in which you can help protect our environment while enjoying your stay. We appreciate your efforts and we are here to help you. Thank you for joining us in this sustainable approach. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask us for advice.
Energy-saving

We just ask you to remember to turn off the heating or air conditioning when you are not in the accommodation.
To keep it cool during the summer, you can close the shutters and draw the curtains during the day so that the heat doesn't enter, and open the windows when it's cooler, for example in the evening when the temperature has dropped.
Recycling
We invite you to use the recycling system set up.
-
There are bins for plastic and cardboard packaging
-
A bathroom bin for other waste
-
In your wardrobe, you will find a bag for glass waste.

There are bins for separating waste under the kitchen sink, where you will also find a bio-bucket for your compostable waste.
We recycle this waste in our composter, which feeds our vegetable garden.

For larger items of waste, containers are available at the back of the North building (on the swimming pool side of the gîtes) and at the entrance to the Château, near the gate.
Around the Château

In Gironde, every action counts to protect our natural areas and the species that live there. You can find out more just by clicking here.
Many ecological restoration initiatives are currently underway to preserve these fragile environments, and educational programmes are raising awareness of the importance of the environment.

To help protect the environment, here are a few rules :
-
Stay on the marked footpaths to avoid disturbing the local flora and fauna
-
Avoid collecting plants
-
Avoid hunting protected animals.
Bordeaux Lac, with its Blue Flag Label, is a fine example of this commitment. This label highlights the municipality's efforts to maintain water quality, manage waste responsibly and promote sustainable tourism. By respecting these principles, you can help preserve our precious natural heritage!

Our housekeeping service in our suites offers a freshening up of the room; sheets and towels are not changed daily in order to reduce our water and energy consumption.

To reduce water consumption, you can opt for showers rather than baths!

In periods of high temperatures, air conditioning keeps you cool.
It is best to set your air conditioner to a temperature of at least 22°C for optimal comfort, and to turn it off when you are not in the room.

Our central heating system keeps you warm in winter.
When you turn on the heating, it is best to set it to 22 degrees, no higher, in order to maintain an ideal temperature in the living space. We also ask that you turn it off when you are not in the room.
